Designing and delivering learning experiences in the NHS
As part of a team of freelancers, I delivered a programme of events for a major health organisation. We were commissioned to design and deliver a range of innovative activities to engage NHS staff working in quality improvement, asking the question: how do you make health services work better for more people?
We partnered with organisations up and down the country to inspire new ways of thinking. From events in community centres to online peer learning, our work brought people together through a diverse range of activities that all championed human connection, relationship building and meaningful learning and reflection.
Facilitating a community of practice for charities
Working for a major UK funder, I designed and led a community of practice that brought together charity CEOs and directors from across the South West. Through regular meetings, this peer learning space offered people working in homelessness and refugee support the chance to share problems, support one another and learn new skills.
Running an international charity conference
Working with two co-facilitators, I designed and delivered a conference for campaigning charities from around the world. As a cross-cultural event running for the first time since before the pandemic, the stakes were high – and so was the adrenaline!
Our job was to design a range of engaging activities, energisers and games; to create spaces for attendees to connect and have meaningful conversations; and to help people develop skills and talents that would further their campaigning work.
During the week-long conference we had to design iteratively, responding live to the changing needs in the room each day.
“Kate is a rare gift. Her natural curiosity, when rooted in your challenges, is able to clearly and articulately reflect back in simple terms productive ways forward. Without judgement and with a lot of heart. This kind of support is exactly what organisations need and Kate has it in abundance.”
