Most people come to coaching because they feel stuck. You might not know where you want to get to, or you might clearly know what needs to change.
As your coach, my aim is to give you space to gain clarity on the vision you have for yourself and your life, and what you need to get there.
I help you to grow your self-awareness and knowledge, and to define meaningful goals that help you move forward purposefully.
I ask powerful questions and listen deeply. I champion you and challenge you. I support you to harness insightful reflections, and then I help you turn those reflections into transformative action.
What is coaching?
What coaching isn’t…
It’s not mentoring.
You might seek a mentor to gain expertise or advice. A coach helps you to access the deep wisdom, insights and knowledge you already have.
It’s not therapy.
I’m not a clinician, and while there is certainly overlap between therapy and coaching as supportive, therapeutic spaces, coaching does not substitute for therapy. It is not designed to treat mental health difficulties or illnesses.
It’s not a supportive friendship.
Boundaries exist in coaching that don’t exist in a friendship. With friends, you might spend time talking about and supporting what’s going on with both of you. In a coaching relationship, the focus is 100% on you. In a friendship, naturally we might move to advice or problem-solving because we have ideas and preconceptions about what is best for our friends, whereas in coaching the focus is on your ideas, your insights and your agency. And to be clear, this doesn’t mean I won’t be supportive, and it doesn’t mean I won’t be friendly - I am both of these things in bucketloads!
It’s not me giving you the answer.
Coaching is not a space where I tell you what to do, or have any secret answers up my sleeve. It can be tempting to look for this, but you are the expert on you - I don’t have any answers. I may well have perspectives or opinions which I may share at your request - but I do this very carefully and intentionally. Coaching is ultimately about you finding answers within yourself. It is guaranteed to be way more impactful and lead to longer-lasting change that way.
How I work with clients
In our first session, we will co-design a coaching alliance. This is a set of agreements outlining what we both commit to in our roles of coach and coachee. It will become the foundation for our coaching relationship.
Some things that will definitely be part of our agreement are:
All coaching sessions are confidential unless you or someone else is at risk of harm.
My job as your coach is to ask deep questions from a place of curiosity. I will, take you to places that may not always feel comfortable, but that to the best of my knowledge will serve your growth and your desired goals.
I’ll always ask you to come prepared for the session - ready to explain how you’d like to use our time together and where you’d like to get to by the end of the hour.
I’ll always invite you to lean bravely into the unknown. Coaching might feel like a very different space, so trust the process as much as you can, and ask questions where you need to.
Length of sessions
Coaching sessions are one hour (except the first session, which is 90 minutes). We will decide together on the day and time of your coaching sessions, and typically have the next 1-2 sessions booked ahead at any one time.
Where coaching happens
Coaching can be done online, on the phone or face-to-face if you’re based in Devon.
There is also the option to do walk and talk sessions, combining coaching with time in nature, if you are someone that prefers to think through moving. Some people love this and find it really gets their thinking going!
The first session
The first coaching session is a deeper dive into you, your values and our coaching relationship, which is why it’s a bit longer. We take time to really build a shared understanding of how we will work together, to discuss what matters to you at this point in your life, and to get really clear on the purpose of the coaching journey and the goals that you’re working towards.
Weekly check- ins
Between our coaching sessions, you will have the option to complete a check- in document on a weekly basis and submit it to me by a deadline we agree. The check- in document is a series of questions tailored to your coaching journey - we decide together what questions will serve you and your goals. The check- in document serves a few functions:
You capture the process: checking in on a weekly basis will help you to track progress against your goals, celebrate your successes, and capture key learnings and insights. I will also respond to these, aiming to deepen your insights, hold up a mirror to some of those reflections, and to champion and challenge you.
You develop your self-coaching skills: in completing the check-in document, you will be embedding those reflective skills outside of sessions, helping you to develop the ability to ‘self-coach’. This becomes a powerful part of the coaching process, and also will sustain you beyond the length of our coaching relationship.
We are prepared for our next coaching session: the check-in document is also a way of preparing for how you want to use your next coaching session, and helps me to understand what is live for you at that moment.

Coaching packages
There are a range of options for coaching with me.
If you decide you’d like to go ahead with coaching, have a think about how often you’d like coaching, and over what period of time. This is also something we can discuss if you’re not sure.
I know that carving out time and money to prioritise yourself can be hard, especially when you’re balancing this with other time and financial commitments.
I am committed to making coaching accessible. I know that, for many people, investing in self-development can be hard for all sorts of reasons. If you would like to coach together, but want to propose a different payment structure I am really open to that.
